Guatemalan traditions are varied and they are from diverse background. Although the traditions are expressed differently in each region, they are also similar in many aspects.
Traditional local markets are popular for the supply of vegetables, fruits, and household utensils for communities within the country. They are traditional because of their existence throughout history, when there was trading of products by barter.

--What you can expect—
(Tuesday) Transfer from Guatemala City to Antigua Guatemala, where you will visit the most important places, such as: churches, convents, monasteries and other colonial places. Accommodation in Antigua Guatemala.
(Wednesday) Morning visit to Iximché Archaeological Site and then continue to Lake Atitlan. Accommodation in Panajachel.
(Thursday) A boat excursion in the morning to the town of Santiago, one of the twelve villages surrounding Lake Atitlán. In the afternoon, transfer to Quetzaltenango for accommodation.
(Friday) Visit to the colorful outdoor market of San Francisco El Alto, then visit the Church of San Andrés Xecul. In the afternoon transfer to Huehuetanango for accommodation.
(Saturday) Visit in the morning to the colorful market of Todos Santos in Cuchumatanes. In the afternoon transfer to Chichicastenango for lodging.
(Sunday) Visit the colorful outdoor market of Chichicastenango and the Church of St. Thomas. Lunch and return transfer to Guatemala City.
